The Caragan Festival which put Malabacat City, Pampanga in the map of Philippine Tourism is a festival named after the first chieftain of Mabalacat called "Garagan".
Garagan is an Aeta who is married to a Mabalaquena name Laureana Tolentino.
Caragan Festival is held every 3rd or 4th week of February as part of the month-long celebration of the city fiesta of Mabalacat, Pampanga. Highlight of the event is the celebration of the traditional Aeta Culture.
In 2014, the Caragan Festival is slated on February 28. The festival will feature street dances during the parade – a festive mardi gras that depicts the rich cultural heritage of the people of Mabalacat particularly the Aetas, being one of the original inhabitants of the area.
