The Santos Family

Aoloa had emailed me a while back about having her family's portraits taken, but since she lives in Hilo we decided to wait for a time when I would be over on the Big Island anyway. Fortunately we were able to get together during my trip over to Kona last month. And boy am I so glad we did because I don't think there is a word that has been invented yet that describes how nice and sweet Aoloa and her family are!

Luckily the Hilo rains took a break for the afternoon and we were able to capture some wonderful memories for her to hang on a special wall in their new home. Yayyy!

Wedding Epilogue: Janice + Derek

When: March 2009
Where: Elks Club, Waikiki
What: Hawaii Destination Wedding Photography

Sometimes there are couples that you meet that you just can't help but smile around. Janice and Derek were one of those couples - you can see 'plain as day' the love that they share for each other! Janice is originally from Oahu, and now lives in Seattle. But her and Derek decided that getting married in Hawaii was meant to be, and I was lucky enough to be the one to photograph their special day.

They decided to have an intimate sunset wedding (which actually turned into a twilight wedding) surrounded by family and friends. It was a touching ceremony and I think Janice, her mom, and her grandmother all went through a few Kleenex. Yep, was a happy day for all! :o)

The Colling Family

The Colling family, who are also from Canada, joined their friends the Jung's on their first trip to Hawaii so I had the pleasure of photographing them both during their holiday. And even though it was a very windy day at the beach, everyone took it in stride and had fun anyway - they were in Hawaii after all! :o)

BTW, during the photo session I learned that both of their daughters are very talented - one is a singer and the other a dancer. (Though I think both could add "model" to their talent list as well). I'm sure their little brother will follow in their footsteps as he gets older.
