whatever

some men see
things as they are
and ask why.

i dream things
that never were
and say whatever.

*this is, of course, a paraphrase of sorts of the G. B. Shaw quote, "Some men see things as they are and ask why. I dream things that never were and ask why not."

**whatever, in a recent marist college poll was named the most annoying word in English.

It's not just the word, it's how its said. Cute piece.

not so much "whatever" as "whatEVAH" :) [tho I guess that's another way of saying what Jim said]

Char - thank you for the comment - I find that I use it myself at work. It was there that I conceived this little number.

Jim - thanks - I wish I knew how to do italics on a blog - because you're right it's how it's said.

willow - definitely italics or whatEVAH something along those lines. Thank you.

Erik - thank you. It seemed like such an inappropriate word to be at the end of such a lofty, shavian sentiment.

Thanks everyone - glad you liked it.

A brief HTML lesson then.

Go to your post and click on the Edit Html tab, find the word, or part of a word that you want to italicise, and wrap it in the following code: <i> before the word and </i> after the word.

For example: if you type in the following:

what<i>ever</i>

this is what will appear onscreen

whatever

Basically you're turning italics on and then turning them off. This is how most HTML codes work.

Okay?
